Tom is a mid-Westerner, Chicago and Kansas City raised. He lives in McLean VA now, has been married 30 years and has four children. As a school teacher, Tom has taught all grades K-12, and is currently teaching middle and high school Latin, History and English at an all boys Catholic school in Washington, DC.
Tom was also a former actor who was drawn to hickory golf more for the costumes than the golf! He and Deal Hudson have been VaHGA’s haberdashery committee and often the best dressed at any event! Twelve years ago (2009) Tom bought an original Mills putter from a bucket of stray clubs at a used club sale and then began thinking about rounding out a play set. Mike Just at Louisville Golf put him in touch with the Virginia hickory boys.
What’s in the Bag?
Louisville Precision Irons
Louisville Jack White woods
Brown-Vardon putter
McIntyre mesh ball or Wilson Duos
Tom loves the diversity of our hickory group, not people from the same businesses or tribe. He likes that we can have conversations about things beside the stock market and politics, like music, art, literature, religion–and yes even movies like Animal House and Caddy Shack!
