Started golf as a caddy at age 12 at the Berkshire CC in Reading, PA. A relative gave me a 5 and a 9 iron, which I probably hit 2,000 times before ever playing a round of golf. Played on the Wilson High School (Home of Kerry Collins and Chad Henning) golf team. Played on the Shippensburg University golf team. Resident of Pennsylvania for 50 years until finding my wonderful wife, Lou Anne, down here in Fair Oaks, VA. Have two children from my first marriage, Laura (23 a senior at JMU) and Adam (21 – career undecided) Introduced to hickory golf by Dave “Scratch” Dickman, here at River Creek, where we both resided for 5 years. Now playing more than 50% of my golf with hickories, which could easily go to 90% if River Creek was a better hickory friendly course. My wife and I did our first Scotland/Ireland trip in July of 2014. I played only hickories and was very proud of my 84 on the Old Course. Also played Carnoustie, Royal County Down and Royal Portrush. Very sad not to get on Musselburgh Golf Links, Kingarrock and North Berwick. Maybe next time!
